Nikon 28mm f/2.8D isn't very good for the price though.
http://deadsailorproductions.blogspot.com/2009/02/nikon-28mm-f28d-vs-nikon-28-70mm-f28d.htmlAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17294296806845135867noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4609548138538436057.post-25032842304787876132014-01-15T04:44:35.043-06:002014-01-15T04:44:35.043-06:00Would you say this lens is a good bargain for land...Would you say this lens is a good bargain for landscape photography at 28mm with a film camera. I tend to get up to 20 megapixel scans, and expect a level of sharpness there. The 28mm f2.8 af Nikon lens I found is more expensive than this :)

The bokeh also looks pleasing so it could also double up as a soft portrait tool I guess, and it's cheap& small I guess.Natnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4609548138538436057.post-81227005157474312412013-09-04T17:25:39.282-05:002013-09-04T17:25:39.282-05:00It might be OK if you're shooting a 6-10MP cam...It might be OK if you're shooting a 6-10MP camera, but this just doesn't have the quality to stand up to a demanding 24MP sensor.

The lens sells routinely for $20-30. Nikon's cheapest AF film camera kit lens, the 28-80 f/3.5-5.6 sells for more than twice that.

If the lens was halfway decent it would be fetching a better price.

You are looking at reviews that were posted well over a decade ago. I think expectations were a lot lower back then.

It's a cheap lens. Buy one and try it out.
