Nikon D800 focus issues part II
Nikon Professional Services has confirmed that the focus issue does exist and is both a hardware and software issue, though no mention of how widespread the issue is.

Bummer! Can we presume that if a camera has this problem then it will be noticeable from the beginning? Since I have not yet seen any problem, might I conclude that my D800 is not thus affected? Or is it gonna bite me in the ass later?
From what I understand it's pretty apparent from the get-go. I doubt you're going to see a problem develop.
Hi - do you have any official reference to that "problem confirmation" from Nikon.
I am having this focus issue with my D800 and Nikon insists there is no issue.
This problem is worst than light leak for Canon 5d Mark III
My copy doesn't have the problem, my information comes from other sources that have assured me Nikon has officially confirmed it directly to them. They haven't done an all out recall yet.

@Vanna So, the light leak problem affected ALL 5D Mk III's, so it's not that bad. Most D800's work just fine. U think it's a relatively small batch that was affected, and has gotten blown out of proportion due to internet flamers.
